Reading Responce #4

In the article Nobel Peace Prize Lecture which spoke by Kofi Annan illustrate what he thinks the peace is: fight poverty, prevent conflict and cure disease. As Annan states, no matter what race you are, what gender you are and what background you are, people all have rights to have peace. Only all the people do not need to think about poverty and conflict, this world would have sufferer no more. He thanks his family, all his colleagues and all the people who dedicate their entire lives in cause of peace. Especially the Nobel Committee, the Nobel Price courage people by addressing the needs of peace, dignity and security. I can remember that I have seen a video which talked about freedom. The president Franklin Delano Roosevelt had said that people have four basic freedoms. The first one is the freedom of speech and expression, second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way, third is freedom from want and the last one is freedom from fear. These few words are powerful and it makes me think for a long time. Many countries in the third world do not even have food to eat. However, many countries in the first are trying to dominate the whole world with any possible reason and they never think about how hard the people’s lives from the third world. Therefore, that is the reason why the United Nation exists. They try to make the world more balance, to make the world peaceful and make everybody have equal right.
